Corrosion protection in a Solahart tank is achieved by using a proven, high quality vitreous enamel lining on the tank and the fitting of a sacrificial anode within the tank. A sacrificial anode is a metal rod that is more prone to corrosion than the tank it is protecting, over time the dissolved oxygen wears away the anode requiring it to be replaced. In South Australia we recommend these anodes be replaced at either the 5 or 10 year mark depending on the system installed.
